Cooking for Peanuts 9: Chocolate Orange Protein Pancakes

For this week’s Cooking for Peanuts, we have teamed up with Just Bee, a fabulous forward-thinking honey brand that have a positive impact on bees.

We have used our Sea Salted Peanuts to create a protein flour and topped the pancakes with the delicious Orange Honey to create a chocolate orange flavour!

Peanuts can be used to create a high protein flour that can be substituted for flour when baking.

Ingredients:

Sea Salted Peanuts 60g (blended to create protein peanut flour)

2 eggs

Almond milk, enough liquid to make pancake consistency

1 teaspoon baking powder

Just Bee Orange Honey, to drizzle

Chocolate spread, to drizzle

 Method

  1. Crush up the peanuts into a fine powder. Peanuts are high in protein so are a great and tasty substitute for protein powder
  2. Mix the eggs, peanut powder, and baking powder in a large bowl. Add almond milk a little at a time until the batter is at your ideal consistency.
  3. Place a pan on the stove over a medium heat. Spray with cooking spray to avoid them from sticking
  4. Cover in Orange Honey and chocolate spread to create a perfect protein treat.
